Low-cost Alberta Detox

Last week, Fiona was looking for affordable private withdrawal options in Edmonton, AB for her husband. Here are the options we provided her (although they all were too expensive as well):
- The “Recover for Good” mobile home detox and sober companionship
- Sunshine Coast Health Centre’s 5 day detox program
- Orchard Recovery’s 10 day withdrawal and treatment program
While Fiona found all the private options too expensive, her husband also refused to attend AHS medically supervised withdrawal at the Edmonton Detox or The George Spady Centre.
Leah at the Canada Drug Rehab Directory did a follow-up call a week later to see how Fiona and her husband were doing with their options. They still had yet to find a detox centre.
One more option was provided: The Thorpe Centre in Lloydminster, AB. This facility offers an “affordable” rate of $250/day. Cautionary Note: This is not the highest quality detox facility or a very comfortable place according to past clients. It is, however, the cheapest private detox available in Fiona’s area. This facility does not offer much support for client coping post-withdrawal. In addition, this facility often encourages its clients to continue onto treatment there, which has costs similar to other private, more-established programs.
Two weeks later, Leah did another follow-up to see if Fiona and her husband had sought treatment resources. They had. They went with Thorpe. Fiona proceeded to describe it as a total nightmare and an awful experience. Fiona said that her husband was still recovering from his experience there.
Private Addiction Treatment is almost always expensive. However, treatment centers realize this barrier and usually try to work with prospective clients to make their programs financially accessible. When researching treatment programs, we recommend calling or emailing the facility to find out about payment options for individuals/families who cannot afford the costs of private treatment upfront. For example, Sunshine Coast Health Centre offers financing options so clients can get the treatment help they need right away.
Wtf that’s the stupid system 4 ya of course the government wants us 2 beleive they want 2 help people with addictions but you really think they do? Lmfao if so your an idiot they need addict they need drug users they need drug dealers and smugglers its a corrupt government that needs these types so the circle of money continues why would they want 2 dish out all their “hard earned money” when there killing 2 birds with one stone they have addicts that keep generating more addicts and since their over indulging so much they eventually die a very slow and very painful death o well they know what to do self medicate takes away a lot of the pain but wen they come down ahhh their pain is gonna hit the roof anyways lots of peole need a rehab or detox and do not have that kind of money there probley on some kind of assistance but their are people that don’t even have any kind of assistance and you need to go through a huge process and takes forever some people probley died waiting for assistance and Tetox 250 a day lol really that’s what you guys call the cheapest price and it’s the worst one out of all well that’s how you guys made it sound the funny thing about this is im not sure what detox or rehab really means cause If it was me I wouldn’t be looking for a five star hotel with room service and all the good stuff i would be looking for a place that I can just be secluded from any kinds of my addictions And it wouldn’t hurt if there were some good hearted staff you can talk 2 now get this even funnier is if you go to jail you got free mess free room free council in free 3 meals day with snacks your own room or a room with a roommate… ahh don’t think stupid that stuff don’t happen that much in alberta jails lol but yea outdoor time gym now I find that rediculously hilarious don’t you hmm what to do what to do go to rehab and pay 200 dollers a day or let those dirty ass government pay for us you want free detox you want free rehab man the f#@k up go to jail like I said jail in alberta is daycare o you don’t got no charges bullshit lmao jk a lil pink ticket will help you with that tickets that result in jail time nothing serious jus a ticket that can give you a few days to think bout your actions hmm wait a min I don’t know where I seen this but isn’t some places just a week we’ll look at that 4 to 5 days pretty close ahhh you know it’s sad when I’m saying this dude not you so why don’t you guys stop trying to fool people make it seem like your such a big help find them places for 250 Anite the cheapest detox is more expensive then some hotels im 2 lazy to go over this so if there’s any add on words or mistakes o fkn well lol
